... |  Contract Design and Manufacturing Creative Controls has for many years done custom low voltage control projects for clients primarily in the audio-video and security industries. These are “one shot” projects or sometimes develop into products which have repeat applications. In either case the customer commissions Creative Controls to produce the design and build the products as ordered. The design becomes the exclusive property of the client, and all documentation is furnished. Recent examples include: In-Car Video Recording System A customer required a hard drive video recorder be installed in vehicles to record 4 camera view while the vehicle was in motion. The recorder was modified to fit in a small case and operate on battery power. The control system designed and produced by Creative Controls activated the system automatically with ignition on and provided manual control with time out. The system also featured video detection of all four cameras and alarm if any camera or the recorder dropped out. To date 95 systems have been built. Breathalyzer Testing Videotape Controller South Carolina law requires that all Breathalyzer tests be videotaped with head shots of both the testing officer and the suspect. Two original copies are to be made during the test. The microprocessor based system designed and built by Creative Controls provides “one button” operation of a video and audio control system. This system, called the “Smart Switch”, is in use in 165 testing locations in South Carolina. Command and Control System A very unique controller was designed for a client in the covert surveillance business. This product, also microprocessor based, is used to control a custom pan/tilt unit for a camera, as well as the zoom and focus of the motorized camera lens. The user can operate the system wirelessly using a standard police radio keypad. The Command and Control System also controls infrared lights, microwave transmitters and provides full function control of a VCR. Four preset locations for each of four pan/tilt units can be saved in memory. Pan and Tilt Control System Another product for the same client is a control system for a large pan and tilt unit capable of handling 2 large cameras with telephoto lens and a infrared light. The unit can be controlled by DTMF tones from a police radio or by RS-422. Custom Controls for Television Production Several designs and styles of custom controllers have been made for Fox Sports Net, CNN Headline News, Turner Entertainment Group, Crawford Communications, The Inspiration Networks and WGCL-TV in Atlanta.
